Derek Bahmanou

I have spent most of my adult life working with students. I have had the privilege of working as a youth pastor, group home administrator, and as a teacher. I have received a lot of the grace and love from many people growing up, and I know that intentional acts of love and grace can change a person's life trajectory.  I believe that by giving back to others, we can make the world a better place.

Candidate's amazing wife, supermom, family coordinator

My wife always gets embarrassed when I brag about how amazing she is. She hates it when I talk about how she was valedictorian of her high school, how she was President of her sorority, how she double majored at Cal, how she can read a manual one time an understand everything in it, or how she is a super nurse... I could continue, but I think you get my point. When I say that she is "my better half," it is not hyperbole. I really did marry well. As a part of a parental unit, I would not be able to devote time to this campaign if it were not for my wife's understanding, encouragement, and help.

I love this picture. I actually love any picture that my kids are in. They are the biggest blessing in my life. They are my joy and my happiness. Being their Dad gives my life new meaning and purpose.  It is amazing how much love you can have for someone. And I thank God every day that I have the privilege of being their Dad.

Being a parent changes you. Your priorities change. My kids mean everything to me, and I know that every parent in our district feels the exact same way about their kids. This is why I am running for School Board. I want to make sure that our kids get the best possible education, because I know that a quality education will give them a better future.
